Brown sugar aroma, and molasses. Deep brown, with a reddish touch. Caramel, roasted malt, banana, clove, (similar to a Weissen) Deliciously sweet, creamy, complex. A very tasty Bock!

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2004 Dark brown to almost black coloured. Malty, sweet aroma. It tastes malty, bit sour and quite sweet. Alcohol is all over the place. Pitty.
Rerate: I underrated this one. Gave it three stars before. It must have been a bad time. I had this 2 more times now and I must say this beer is pretty good. Very fruity (orange) and malty aroma with some spices. Decent appearance; brown coloured with an off-white, lasting head. Taste is malty (roasted), fruity/raisins and some spices. Full bodied well balanced.

Spicy fruitcake aroma. Plums dominate. Black with a tan lasting head. Light spice, chocolate, fruitcake and plums. Smooth full bodied. Nice.

Groumet beer of the month december 12pack. A giant fomy head gives way to decadent cherry characters that run wildly on the pallate. Bold notes of coriander, supplemented by dark fruits and some clove-spice character from the begian yeast. White pepper, honey, and strong sweetness jumps out dominately and this brew then ends on a dry side where one just has to go back for more. Enjoy!

Spitze! 12/13/11/12/9/12

Dark brown beer with an off-white head. Sweet and slightly bitter, full beer. Has a quickly dissapearing, bitter finish with an alcohol kick. Never quite spottet the honey... But maybe that´s a good thing?

draft: preferred this quite strongly to the regular version, dark brown, sweet with brown sugar, dark malts, caramel, molasses, light toffee & honey flavours, very yummy

Dark fruit taste, a pungent odor and retains the sweetness of the regular honied Barbar. Opaque brown color.

On tap. Very dark ruby colour, almost black. Large frothy head, good duration. Aroma of caramel, notes of cherry, roasted. Overall complex. Higher ABV is noticeable in mouth, but nothing dramatic. Taste initially very sweet, a slight bitterness appears after a while. Medium duration of finish. Medium to heavy body. Overall quite complex beer, well balanced, good drink.
