Ik persoonlijk vond dit bier ook weer iets te zwaar (wederom een Ale). Maar het was wel lekker dat je als nasmaak een beetje zoet proeft op het puntje van je tong.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Slight wheat beer feel about this, but with a dark undertone. No bitterness. Very very nice. 2010 note: An early favourite placed in to context by a sea of beer drunk since!

Pours a dark brown with a brown head that quickly disappears. Aroma is honey, malt and a little spice that tickles the nostrils. Taste is very carbonated, lots of honey and a roasted malt background. Over carbonated in my opinion but a solid beer.

Pours a very dark, reddish brown colored body with a whitish colored head, that is quickly diminishing. Has a honey, coriander and a very floral aroma. A nice coriander taste. Floral, and spicy. Almost like a saison with more alcohol.

Aromas of sweet malts, plenty of cane sugar and candi. Big wiff of alcohol. Flavours are similar, very sweet and also surprisingly medicinal - root beer, sweet cherry and white pepper. Hint of oriental spices. Finish is cloying sweetness. Way too sweet, even on a blustery winters night.

Very sweet, almost cloying. Big malt profile of bread, and even bread pudding. NO hops to speak of, just more sweetness with notes of brown sugar, and candi sugar. Just a very very sweet, over carbonated beer.

Bottle bought on my last Belgian beer run to West Flanders. A deep ruby red/brown coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Aroma of dark fruit, honey, Christmas. Tastes sweet, dark fruit, honey, caramel, spice, festive cake ingredients. Very smooth and easy to drink, an excellent winter Belgian.
