[330ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring] Pours brown with a moderate beige head. Very prickly in the mouth. Immediately very spicy and peppery. A waft of artificial banana comes through followed by evident liquorice and the slightest puff of smoke. Lots of salt and raisins too, and a chunk of Crunchie bar, which along with the sticky mouthfeel is the only evidence of the added honey. Some wood, vanilla and more banana in the sweet finish. The fizz gets really annoying by the end. There’s a whole raft of flavours in this interesting brew, but something about it didn’t quite work for me - probably the fizz and the banana.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Cary, NC. Got it for a buck. Hooray! Pours a hazy orange tinted brown color with a dense looking moderate sized tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of dark malts, sweet cherries, honey and spice. Taste is sweet dark malts, tart cherries, dark fruits, brown sugar. Tart throughout. Medium bodied. Tasty beer.

330 ml bottle. Dark, reddish brown body with a big beige head. Aroma is malty with a little hint of sweet, dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, dry fruit, caramel and candy sugar. A certain bitter finish. I assume there is supposed to be some honey added, but I am not able to sense this.

Bought at the Bierkoning in Amsterdam. Medium beige head shrinks quickly. Body is black, almost opaque, lighter at edges. I was supprised bij the honey factor. Nice special beer

Very good and fairly distinct, which was a plus. Strong, heavily spiced flavor with sweet honey. Lightly sweet overall, but not too much so. Lingering malt finish of dark, sweet fruits. Mild carbonation and very drinkable. Mild alcohol presence at the finish. Malty aroma.

Tap from Gingerman Fort Worth. Good beer, nice pour, but I didn’t really think it was worth eight bucks for a pint.
