Gyönyörű,egészen sötét vörösesbarna majdnem fekete ital vékony, gyorsan illanó habbal.Illata picit csípős,alkoholos, aszalt gyümölcsös.Ízében kicsit konyakos,pörkölt magos aromák keverednek egy kis karamellizált mézzel.Eleinte édeskés de a végében érezni a komló kesernyésségét is.Utóíze olyan fekete szőlős,muskotályos.Nagyon kellemes sör egy jó könyvhöz estére.

This was the latter beer to celebrate the start of my annual leave relaxing on the sofa with my new copy of the Good Beer Guide Belgium. Relaxation of this nature however deserved a better beer. The final Barbar for me, and really can’t see what all the fuss is about. The pour promised much with an ebony pour and a thickset head that looked too good to be true. There were certainly deep and dark flavours in this beer, and it was better than the honey blonde, but it just lacked authenticity - being largely synthetic in nature. I could have made it a 7 but felt let down by lefebvre on the brand. Plenty dark beers around with plenty more bite

Flaske: Flot brun řl med et lille skumhoved. Duft af malt. Smagen er igen malt men med en mindre behagelig alkohol burn. Som den varmer op bliver den mere og mere ubehagelig. Ikke en sĺ god řl.

33cl bottle, pours very deep brown with a fine-grained and lacy beige head. Malty, candy-sweet aroma with a hint of toasted nuts. The body is bitter with lots of vinous port notes, and it has a good alcohol bite - but not quite enough of one to fight off the cloying sweetness.

Poured into a ’frosted’ Barbar glass which made visual review more difficult. Dark brown with dense tan head. Very malty caramel nose. Toasy malt sweetness, full yet prickly mouthfeel from carbonation. Hop bitterness producess balance to the malt. As this beer warms hints of flavors of the orange peel and coriander which is nice against the malt. On tap at B. Cafe UWS, NYC.

Reviewed 5/21/2009 (Bottle): Pours a very dark, reddish brown colored body with a whitish colored head, that is quickly diminishing. Has a honey and coriander, a very floral aroma, fresh flowers. A nice coriander taste. Floral, and spicy. Almost like a saison.

Bottle from Belgium Beers, Antwerp. Beige, medium-sized head, dense and lasting. Beautiful , brilliant ruby colored body. Fruity-sweet, perfumed, spiced malt aroma. Taste is crisp malty and fresh fruity, ripe red fruits comes to mind. A fine hop bitterness underneath. Lively mouthfeel from a nice, champagne-like carbonation. Well-bodied. Crisp, effervescent ending. A very unusual and very refreshing one. A Belgian Bock Ale, I suppose.
