Draft at Max’s. Clear brown pour with a red tint. Toasted malt with a nutty aroma. A bit tart and creamy with notes of honey. Extremely sweet with molasses and nutty notes. Some bubblegum, fruity, and cherry. Bitter alcohol finish.

Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, heavy malty, dried fruit and honey. Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. The finish is bitter and a little warming alcohol. A bit too much honey for my liking. 051209

33 cL bottle poured into a Karmeliet glass. Has a very lively head, had to be careful despite the long glass. Very dark brown and looks nice. Excellent sweet and fruity aroma, but also ’beery’. Sweet but also complex this is a very nice sipper, a bit like Gouden Carolus Christmas, but not quite as good. All in all a very good beer, and very Belgian.

On tap at Hopleaf. Holy Honey! Mad honey taste. Dark brown color, tan head, disappearing quickly. Aroma of malts and spices. Flavors of sweet malts, liquorice and caramel. Lots of carbonation. Alcohol well present, however still drinkable

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Poured into a frosted Barbar glass. Brown with a beige head. Caramel, honey, some hops, pine and a little chocolate in the aroma. Treacle, marmalade, orange zest and caramel. Honey doesn’t impose too much. Malty, sweet finish. Quite tasty.
