In 1996, the brewery innovates and launches Barbãr, ale with honey.
Born of the ancestral know-how of a family brewery, Barbar beer will please you with its malt taste and subtle flavour of honey. It is brewed using water drawn from artesian wells on the site of the brewery, at Quenast, a small village to the south of Brussels. This area is well-known for the quality and the diversity of its beers.
Barbar beer is prepared from a secret and harmonious mixture of barley malts, hops and honey carefully selected by our Master Brewer. The traditional brewing method, associated with our unique strain of yeast, and the secondary fermentation in the bottle, gives Barbar the authentic flavour of a very special ale.

Bottle. Golden with a huge creamy white head. Malty and flowery, light yeasty, coriander. Medium to low sweet, sour, boozy finish. Medium body, high carbonation.

lesifflebiere (1520) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 5, 2015

Cor dourada, brilhante. Espuma boa e persistente. Aroma de frutas e fermento. No paladar cereais, frutas amarelas e mel. Corpo médio. Retrogosto com leve dulçor e alcoólico. Fantástica!!!!

Botella.

Bottle@Salhojankadun Pub, Tampere, Finland. Medium sweet and sour, fresh aroma of sweet malts and honey. Golden color with medium, staying natural white head. Clear liquid. Medium taste with sweet malts, honey, hint of sourness. Balanced with medium taste spectrum. Short aftertaste with sweet malts. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall at last a nice honey beer. Too much carbonation.

Pours a clear golden golden yellow with a lofty white head. The smell is brown sugar, honey, fruit, rich and toasty malty. The taste is the taste follows...rich, fruity and malty. Medium body with average carbonation.

Pours ana verage frothy whitebhead. Body is clear yellow and sparkling. Aroma contains moderate malts (straw, caramel), light hops (spruce, orange), light yeasts (dough, horse blanket) and banana, grape, raisin, cherry, honey, forest fruits and vanilla. Flavor is light acidic, then light acidic and sweet, followed by sweet, sweet and light bitter and finishing in light bitter. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Unbalanced, way too sweet, not much complexity. Not for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
