COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled conditioned. Keg: Filtered.
In 1996, the brewery innovates and launches Barbãr, a lager with honey.
Born of the ancestral know-how of a family brewery, Barbar beer will please you with its malt taste and subtle flavour of honey. It is brewed using water drawn from artesian wells on the site of the brewery, at Quenast, a small village to the south of Brussels. This area is well-known for the quality and the diversity of its beers.
Barbar beer is prepared from a secret and harmonious mixture of barley malts, hops and honey carefully selected by our Master Brewer. The traditional brewing method, associated with our unique strain of yeast, and the secondary fermentation in the bottle, gives Barbar the authentic flavour of a very special ale.

A wonderful surprise, I really thought that I would not like a beer with honey, but I did very much. The taste is for gods, honey perfectly complements the flavour of the hops and malt. I will definitely have another bottle ;) just to see if the explosion of taste will happen again.

I love mead, and therefore I was very pleased with this wheat ale and honey mix. The aroma is strongly honeyed, and it adds just a little sweetness to the sour witbier trademark taste. Yum :)

Great glass, great smell, great taste... Even the barkeeper was happy with our choice; and i mean it.

Call me weird but this is a ’noisy’ brew! What I mean is the carbonation in this beer makes it sound like I have ’Pop Rocks’ candy in my mouth! Load me up a big stockpile of this fine honey beer because this brew is insanely delicious! Honey, spices, orange, vanilla all combine to make a semi-sweet brew that hides its alcohol content oh so well. Smoked salmon would be my pairing choice alongside some pasta lightly tossed with fresh cracked black peppercorns, dill and extra virgin olive oil. Absolutely amazing!

This was solid all the way through. A nice fresh aroma, some definite honey in both aroma and beer but not too much. Crisp and refreshing.

this is, together with westmalle trippel (if I’m having bitter day:)) my absolute favorite beer. The strong taste, followed by spicy and honey aroma’s, ending in a bitter/sweet finish is like a feast in my mouth. I also like the appearance when it’s served in it’s original matte-glas glass
