Test vom 9.2.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: -,9,10,9,-,9 - 9,17

On tap (@ Miner’s Museum, Bochum) : hazy, amber coloured, quite thin, but stable white head; sweet (dark-)malty nose, a bit skunky; faint slightly sweetish flavour; fruity, drier and faint bitter finish; not unpleasant, quite well rounded...................

(on tap at the Restaurant Förderturm, Deutsches Bergbaumuseum, Bochum) Hazy amber colour with a small creamy off-white head. Dusty and yeasty aroma, light sweet malty and spicy (pepper and liquorice). Sweet malty initial taste, crispy mouthfeel, medium to light bodied, bitter and herbal hoppy finish with yeasts and a distinctive note of liquorice. Well made, “homebrewed” unfiltered Alt from Dorsten, which is not far away from here. The only downside is that the bottled version is mega-expensive (4,5 €/0,5 l). The bottled version has a huge foamy tanned head. Pear-fruity and yeasty aroma, slightly overcarbonated but strong caramel malty and pear fruity mouthfeel, rounded hopbitter finish.
