33cl bottle brought home from France by my lovely and patient wife. Pours a deep brown verging on black. Very little tan head, mostly a ring soon after pouring. Aroma is yeasty lightly roasted malt, reminds me of Westmalle. Taste is certainly Belgian like; mild yeast, chewy caramel malt with some roast, slight toffee hit. Mouthfeel is somewhat effervescent. Finish has some dark fruit, caramel malt. Excellent.

Bottles from Hyper Casino supermarket, Parthenay, France and E.Leclerc supermarket, Parthenay, France. Dark brown-black in colour with rich currants, red fruit and chocolate flavours with sweet liquorice on the finish.

Nice Black Ale with authentic chocolate taste, cereal and slightly licorice taste. Not so creamy but a very long finish. Has a medium sweetness, the aroma is so nice that we forgot the alcool.

Bottle bought @ La Cervoiserie. pours dark brown, off-white head. aroma, malty, caramel, dark chocolate, plenty of nice roast. flavors, licorice, malty, coffee in after taste, light bitter dark chocolate, molasses. This is a fine beer, and a ncie change from the previous two I tried by this brewery. Lots of roast goodness with a touch of grains. This is tasty, full body, loaded with flavors.

bottle, merci beaucoup, Pascal! Hazy brown colour, small off-white head. Malty base with caramel and lots of roaseted malt flavours, with a bitter and hoppy punch in the finish. Smooth palate and well balanced!

Pours dark brown with a fading off-white head. Nose shows toasty malt, some sweet brown sugar, bready malt and nutty character. Enticing. Similar flavours, nutty and bready malt with the Belgian dubbel-like brown sugar note in there too. Carbonation seems a little high. Would be a really good brown ale if not for the brown sugar character.

Bottle. Brown with a pale beige head that fades to a coat then lasts OK. Aroma of dough, carob, intriguing spices - mace, anise and what is presumably lady’s mantle (according to the bottle). Less full-bodied than the aroma suggests, sweet, a bit nutty, carob, dries out towards an end that has little bitterness. Aniseed becomes quite prominent after a while. Interesting beer, would go a treat with terrine.
