I cannot understand why Ratebeer accepts this Barbican concoction - which does NOT have a real alcoholic version - but not the Braunschweiger Mumme, the mother of "modern" Schwarzbiere, a non-alcoholic drink that did start as a beer and went clean, and which now does have a version with alcohol too. Anyway, this Barbican ends up being a sinful attempt to circumvent sin. It smells and tastes like cheap grape juice mixed with Karo corn syrup. I hope the rest of the bottle does not ruin my chicken roast.

Bottle from Wisla, Leicester. A lovely pineapply soft drink. Perfectly refreshing and tasty, with a firm, flexible, invisible and undetectable malt presence, which is never less than on the tip of my tongue. Blast.

[ As my country rating # 138 on ratebeer ]. Clear light yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, cereal, sweet sugary malt. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet sugar, sugary malt. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Flaska (tack NordicV). Väl upphälld försvinner snart allt skum och det påminner mer om äppeljuice. Doften är märklig: sötma möter fotsvett. Och fotsvett är aldrig fräscht. Smaken är förvånansvärt frisk och fräsch, men det blir mer som en juice än en öl med de tydliga äppel-, krusbär- och limesmakerna.

Tasted Dubai 24/3/2013. Semi-translucent golden amber with no head, no lacing, and low carbonation. Aroma dominated by malt. Taste is very sweet. Light body. Sweet finish. Not that good.

Gyllenfärgad öl. Både bubblorna i ölen och i skummet är bland de största jag sett. Det gör att skummet försvinner spårlöst på 2 sekunder. Doftar nästan ingenting alls en lätt maltighet kan anas. Smaken är som extremt utspädd äppeljuice och helt utan beska. Riktigt tunt och dåligt till och med för ett alkoholfritt öl.
