Commercial Description:
This Golden Sorghum Lager will appeal to beer drinkers who prefer the lighter taste of lagers produced by the major brewers, such as Anheuser-Busch, Coors, Miller, and Heineken. This ale has a light crisp taste to meet the thirst quenching requirements of the lager style while still having enough body to interest the ale drinker during the spring and summer seasons. This beer has low bitterness and a subtle but pleasant hop aroma that will gently caress the senses.

Note: contract brewed for Bard’s Tale Beer (<A HREF=http://www.bardsbeer.com/ TARGET=blank>http://www.bardsbeer.com/).

Golden and herbal/lightly fruity on the nose, neither of which jumped out at me. Taste is of -- and this was really, really fun putting together -- sourdough bread, La Choi soy sauce, Special K, and Aunt Jemimah. If someone offered me a slice of sourdough with a La Choi/Special K/Aunt Jemimah dipping sauce, I’ld eat the bread and dump the sauce on whoever was demented enough to make it. I suppose an ’A’ for effort, but that’s it.

Sorgum gives quite a unique flavor, but goes better in saisons and other brews as a smaller portion of the grain bill. Very earthy on the palate, the sorgum gives it a spicy edge, feeling rather dry and crisp in the finish.

Initially I was dissappointed however I had to think, sorgum and adjust my palate and it became quite enjoyable. But I won’t be ordering it anytime soon with better choices available.

First gluten free beer I’ve tried. Light copper with small head. Aroma is sour honey...taste is of doughy bread, and badness. I couldn’t stomach more than a few ounces. I’d rather have bud light; at least that tastes like water.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a clear dark golden orange color with a quickly diminished fizzy alabaster head. Aroma is of dough, light grains, light fruit and grass. Taste is of light grains and grass with tangy bitterness. Light to medium bodied, lightly crisp, and well carbonated. Ending is of light grains with notes of light fruit. Leaves a tangy aftertaste.

Bottle: Pours a clear orange with a thin white head, aroma is of honey and berries, light bodied with a watery ending, starts and ends lightly bitter, I can’t tolerate the taste of this beer, so I’m ending the rating here.

Thanks <a href = "http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID= Had this one bottled in North Aurora, Illinois. For my first sorghum brew, I was very impressed. Nice, dark yellow pour with a minimal head. Molassas and mild fruitiness, maybe some strawberries and rye bread. Pretty good, and very drinkable!

pours a light golden with a thin white head. aroma is faint and hard to place. taste is sweetish almost like honey. maybe the high sugar of sorghum. has a touch of hops on the end with plenty of carbonation. some strange earthy/ vegetal notes in there. glad i don’t live gluten free
