cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 11, 2008 Nope, from the beginning has more personality than a regular old lager. Has a candy like fragrance. This is more like an ale, offensive, just like most ale. Has that ale character that makes it a prominent arrival on the palate. Much more offensive and ale-like compared to regular old american pale lagers. Has a rather malty personality that makes it feel much more than 4.7%. Also may i say this is darker and more orangish than the typical pale yellow lager. I would say this is more than a pale yellow lager, it is equal to many ales in personality, after all, it is an ale! Brewer101 (162), New Jersey, USA Mar 9, 2008 So i was getting a few beers in when i tried this one so i feel like i may not have had a fair ranking to it so i lowered some of my initial scores. Prob should retry this one. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Feb 24, 2008 Name: Bards Tale Dragon’s Gold

SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Feb 23, 2008 Pours a crisp amber-orange color with a small foamy off-white head. Sweet, roasty aroma. Flavor is standard for a sorghum brew. Not overly impressed.
after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Feb 17, 2008 12-oz. Pours a brilliant crystal clear coppery medium amber with verrrry little grayish head. Nasty cherry nose, smells synthetic. Mostly butterscotch on the nose, but the artificial fruit is hard to forget once you notice it. Medium body, odd for a lager, and somewhat fizzy. More weird phony butterscotch and cherry on the mid-palate. If you’re allergic to barley malt, and this is your only other beer option, for god’s sake, start learning about scotch or red wine. ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Feb 14, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, orange-gold body crowned with a small ring of white bubbles.
Smell: Candyish aroma accompanied by the stink of sorghum. Of all the sorghum beers I’ve punished myself with, this one’s aroma has been the least offensive.
Taste: A sugary, candyish sweetness can’t quite mask that noxious, repellent sorghum taste. I’m tapping out, I cannot finish this.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Mild carbonation.
Drinkability: Ugh, I just can’t do the sorghum. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Feb 5, 2008 Pours a light golden with a large frothy white head. The head rapidly diminished. Taste is slightly coffee bitter with a nice balance of caramel, roasted malt and sorghum. I thought the label was tacky so I was surprised what a great beer this is. Yes, I know, Don’t rate a beer by its cover. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jan 25, 2008 Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet cane sugar and light fruity esters. Starts thin and sugary sweet with a hint of earthy bitterness toward a drier semi-sweet finish. An interesting brew, but nothing that I’d really want to drink much of.
