Taste is not overly bad for a non-grain beer. Hard to describe- earthy, sweet, nutty. PhillyBeer2112 (2097), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 20, 2006 I finally get to try a sorghum beer. I appreciate that this beer was low hopped so I could focus on the grain character. Its pretty different - sweet and caramelly with notes of molasses and maple syrup. A bit on the thin side, and overall plain and sweet enough to just deter me from wanting to drink it. If I couldn’t have glutens, I wouldn’t be real happy about having to drink this as a go-to beer. I’d ask them to just dump in a bunch of hops to mask the rest. Copper color, and a bit lifeless in the glass. bhensonb (4404), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Rather different sort of aroma; maybe a bit caramel. Solid amber color with wholly non-retentive head. Starts quite sweet. Near medium body with mild carbonation. The finish is rather caramel sweet with no detectable bitter. It’s ok, but ... On the other hand it is incredibly better than Bud!! Might be a little bitter building over time. Certainly not offensive. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Light golden liquid with a thin lid of white bubbles. Hints of herbal honey tea. Some berries and cream also in the nose. Interesting light honey and fruit flavors. But then again it does have some sweet lager characteristics, that while not that appealing, Actually quite a bit better then the few other sorghum brews that I have tried. beerguy101 (3972), Newark, California, USA

This lager pours a yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is grain and cereal, a touch sour/lactic but not in a bad way. A medium to light bodied Pale Lager. Malts are grainy and cereal. Hops are mild and kind of spicy. Flat carbonation. Very Budwesier like yet it has a slight sour/lactic flavor to it. I am assuming that is from the sorgum than a brewing fault. It doesn’t have the crisp rice flavor that Bud has so that one point in its favor. But its still a fairly generic tasting Pale Lager. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertate is slightly bitter.

Rather neutral malt aroma with slight marks of burned rubber (*the bottle was heat shocked in my trunk). In mouth, rather refreshing mix of light crisp grass with decent bitterness for the style. Not bad considering its gluten free. A notch above Messagère.
