Dark brown color. Fudgey, light chocolate in the nose with evident alcohol. The body is sweet and smooth, but not in a good way. Much too much alcohol evident.

Muddy brown. Aroma of pear brandy and other fruits. Lots of alcohol. Fat alcohol tang on the tongue, light plastic notes. I'd like a more developed malt/hop interplay to distract me from the alcohol assault, but worth trying.

domtom (65) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 6, 2003
Colour of dark tea with few foam. It has an aroma of peat, syrah and honey. The flavour is a mix of acidity and sweetness. The finish is strong and smokey. A complex and very pleasant beer.

Nut brown, pours thick with almost no head. Big unusual marzipan aroma. Malty and sweet, vinuous, almond flavours. Dry finish. A superb, rich, balanced and complex beer.

re-rate 05/18/02: (one year old bottle) The sweetness is now balanced by a nice bitterness. It shows a powerfull alcohol presence.
03/17/02: dark brown colour, few head, nice lace, impressive aroma: dark fruits and hoppy with notes of licorice and a touch of caramel; the flavour does not live up to its aroma and lacks of balance (this beer is probably too young), very sweet; the finish is dry and long with notes of alcohol - warming and showing a great potentiel (I really would like to try it in 3-5 years) but lacks of balance right now.

Rutzicka (102) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 19, 2002
This beer has a beautiful clear brown colour with few foam. Its aroma is superb, thick with nutty notes. It is robust, full-bodied, powerful with maybe too much alcohol presence. The aftertaste is very long, strong and full of alcohol.

fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - MAY 14, 2002
Aged 18 months. Dark ale; the head is not persistent. Light aroma, fruity. Full body, full malt, not too sweet, well balanced by the bitterness and some carbonation acidity; even the high alcohol content is not too strong in the taste. Good palate, enough aromatic.
