3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear copper color. Thin white head with some nice lacing. Spicy aroma. I can’t pick up anything but those spices in the flavor and I am not a fan. This could be really amazing to the right person. I’m just not into the flavors.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to tulip at HopCat in Grand Rapids. Looks solid; malty though. A cloudy dark apricot with foamy white head. Smells of hops, citrus, and spices with a big but balanced bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Some lemongrass and mild lime. Enjoyable, if it is a little chewer than I normally prefer my IPAs to be.

On tap. Pours a light copper with a thin white head. Spicy and fruity aromas. Very spicy flavor with orange and citrus notes. Light to medium body with good carbonation. Very good and unique IPA. I think Bare Hands is going to make some noise in the Indiana Beer scene. Two thumbs up!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2013 Tap flight at the brewery. Light golden pour. Aroma is lemongrass, verbena, and ginger. Pretty amazing flavor. Ginger, lemon leaves, and lavender. Very fresh and fragrant flavors with a citrus and resin hop finish. Pine resin lingers in the back of the mouth. Medium mouthfeel. Another winner.

What a unique and interesting beer. LEmongrass, spice, herbs, citric notes and ginger. First sip was weird but intriguing. My little sis quite the beer novice was blown away by this one. By the end the pint was quickly quaffed

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample. Poured clear copper color with an average fizzy white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex ginger and lemon herb aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a complex good beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
tap at Brewhaven festival - This copper colored beer with a lasting head has a citrus hop aroma and a good bitter flavor with crisp, citrus accented hops and some earthy character. It’s an interesting medium bodied brew that works well.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Backlogged rating: Clean golden hue with a fizzy but lasting head, spotty lace. The aroma has big vapours of Thai Ginger and lemongrass along with some lime and citrus notes, lots of pale grain and some 20L crystal malt notes as well. Hint of grassy and grapefruit hop esters. The taste has a nice combination of fruit, spice and grain. Big tropical, herbal, and lactic qualities to the flavor profile before a little ginger heat on the finish. The mouth feel is brash and oily, warming and slightly metallic. This grows on ya and in the end the beer is gone in no time flat. So interesting and quite nice.

Glad to see Bare Hands opened this past week, and it looks like they are already developing a sizable following. This beer in particular has been all the rage, and I can see why. Nice golden pour with a fluffy off-white head. Nose is definitely toward the spices, and almost has an herbal tea like quality, with a hint of hops underneath. Taste is lightly sweet and fairly bitter. Palate is not heavy at all, very refreshing. I told them the only "problem" is that this beer is waaay too drinkable! This was by far the most popular beer of the evening, and I can see why. It’s just awesome. And on top of that, it’s unique: I know of no one else producing a beer quite like this. I’d say Bare Hands is off to a good start with this one. I’ll come back for more.
