ehhdayton (1113), USA Nov 17, 2006 Pours black with a creamy tan head. The aroma is light with a little roastedness but not much. The flavor is mild with some roasted but again very little. dustyk278 (25), Missouri, USA Nov 14, 2006 At Anheuser-Busch in St Louis Missouri. Pours like Guinness but not as black and tastes somewhat like Guinness but is kind of bitter and lacks thinkness. Good brew but don’t mix it with Budweiser, they had a name for it but it doesn’t matter, this is definately better without the contamination of Budweiser. shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Nov 11, 2006 Tap at Sea World Orlando. LIght chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Light chocolate, coffee and malt flavor . Very light. Overall tastes pretty good - a good gateway beer for Bud drinkers. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 6, 2006 Creamy aroma. And definitely very creamy in taste too, so maybe not what they were going for as a dry stout, but I like it; Beamish-esque. brew4fun (167), West Virginia, USA Oct 29, 2006 A giant leap for A-B, but Guinness is definitely safe. Long lasting ,creamy off-white head. No body to speak of. Taste of mocha, chocolate, but thin. Hopefully this will lead A-B drinkers to demand better beers; a gateway brew for the masses! alafito (334), tijuana, Mexico Oct 21, 2006 On tap at Seaworld.. pours like a Guinness but with a brown head instead. Kinda tastes like it too, with some bitterness, mocha tones and slightly smokey. Not too much flavor though good or bad.. just a neutral kinda watery stout, easy to drink. Its not great but its the best one theyve got! PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 18, 2006 Updated: Mar 2, 2007Rerate Very watery this time around and full of "unflavor". No earth or coffee detected. Nice pour still. Original 2.7 Bailey’s Pub & Grille - Crystal City - Arlington, Va - on tap - deep black as tar pour, nice thick, mocha colored pour with very good thick lacing. Looks great. Neutral aroma. Very dry flavor, pick up hints of planting soil, day old coffee. Decent bitterrness permeates throughout. If AB is trying to mimic Guiness on this one - they hit the nail on the head. Creamy mouthfeel. Overall, decent. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Oct 15, 2006 Well, it wasn’t awful by any means, but it was a pretty thin try at a stout from AB. Glad they’re opening their minds to other styles, but they could do a better job of emulating. Had it on tap ... it was pretty good looking, but very thin bodied and was very much a one-note beer. Light roasted malt in the aroma, same in the flavor and not much else. Beats Bud, though.
