Traditionally brewed using a blend of roasted barley, pale and caramel malts, Bare Knuckle Stout is balanced with robust hopping to provide a rich and flavorful stout, with a smooth and creamy head.

This is a pretty average, maybe slightly less than stout. Not too much flavor but no overwhelming chocolate or smoke...just watered down heavy malt.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2016 Tap at Einsteinís Pub in Katy, TX. Surprisingly good for budweiser stout, not that thatís saying a whole lot.

On tap at the AB Brewery in Merimack NH after taking the tour. Pours black in color. Aroma and taste is basically made up of dusty malts with a little roastiness. Leaves a malt finish. Nothing really special, but it was a decent attempt to a stout by Anheuser Busch.

Tried this for the first time at Stoutís Irish Pub in Atlanta... Pours black with a huge creamy white head. Say what you will about the rest of the beer but it looks great. The smell is very lightly roasty and bitter. The flavor in very atringent. The pleasant creamy bitterness of the big dry stouts is ruined by an unpleasant atringency. Mouth is very creamy and smooth. But the total flavor is not that great. Iíll take a pass on this in the future but itís not terrible.

On tap Wintergarden Livonia. This is a guinness until the finish - a poor finish. Something is not quite right. Tastes like Guinness out of a dirty tap.

[Tap] Pours a dark brown color with a small amount of beige head. Dusty grains in the aroma. The taste is like a muted version of Guinness, as mentioned by other raters. I got some coffee, toffee and burnt caramel notes in there. Light body. Rather high carbonation, but still a dry finish.

This reminded me of a lesser version of Guinness. Body was a bit thin, had a slight roast/chocolate/coffee taste. Average brew.

Not bad attempt by Budweiser but overall not very good in the stout category.
