The head lingers beneath the surface of the solid black body for a good long while before settling inteo a medium tan head. Leaves tremendous concentric lace. Aroma is fairly faint, but what there is of it is sweet and mildly roasty. Taste is medium sweet, roasty up top, finishing much the same with a short-lived bitterness in the swallow. It's a bit watery, very smooth with pretty much no carbonation. Suttree (2751), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Black withwhite head. Creamy coffee aroma, though faint. Watery flavor, maybe a hint of chocolate? It really seems like AB wanted a blander Guinness, and if so, this is a rousing success. bbrock81 (221), Le Mars, Iowa, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 19, 2008 This is Guinness lite (and since Guinness is stout lite, I guess that makes this stout lite lite). It has the typical stout appearance - dark, opaque, fairly thick head. It also has the typical stout aromas and flavors, but they are so watered down as to be almost nonexistent, and this also prevents there from being any subtle nuances. There’s a basic, very mild coffee-ish roastiness (we’re talking cheap Folgers here, not a nice custom roast or anything even halfway decent), and a bit of hop bitterness going on, but that’s about it. If you’re in the situation I was in when I tried it (i.e. it’s either this or the typical Miller/Bud choices), then go for it. But if you can get damn near anything else, you’ll be better off. wildchefbill (244), Sarasota, Florida, USA

Flavor smooth with a roasted finish. not much of an aftertaste. A little watery. A poor guiness knock-off.
Is A-B afraid of hops, or what???? Cornboy (418), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 22, 2004 It looks like a stout, vaguely smells like a stout, but again, the taste is michelob with some black malt thrown in. Very thin, sweet. Definitely not a dry stout. Mix michelob and guinness and you have this one.

Taste was of a very watered down stout. AB seems to be trying to make a stout that is unoffensive to the general public. ChainGangGuy (2619), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Appearance: Pours an opaque black body with a creamy, pale beige head.
Smell: Exceptionally weak aroma of dry roasted grains and chocolate.
Taste: Roasted grains with sourish, watered down dark chocolate. A vague sweetness shuffles lazily by in the middle. Dry, lightly sour finish. Good grief.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Soft carbonation. Creamy-ish mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Painfully weak and lacking in all it’s parts, I found it almost impossible to stifle the yawns while drinking this thing. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2007 Pours a brownish-black color with a creamy tan head. A slight roasted aroma of coffee and chocolate with a hint of caramel. Flavor was the same but very watered down. Not a very good brew at all.
