Fruity, malty aroma, fairly weak but pleasant. A slight sulphur aroma but not enough to be unpleasant. Dark amber brown in colour, a good head and carbonation for such a strong beer. Fairly light for the style but nicely complex, dark fruits, perhaps prune, fig and raisin. A slight chocolatey note at the end. Sweetness is nicely balanced by the bitterness and though warming there are no hot alcohol notes. The bottle I tried was 10 months old but this beer would probably get even better with age.
