UPDATED: FEB 20, 2011 500ml bottle (no best before date but brewed on 16 May 2010) @ Christmas tasting on 28 December 2010. Plain of name and rather plain in nature. Barearts does some really interesting off-the-wall stuff but here we have a standard, traditional style bitter with plenty of caramel and a smattering of dusty hops. Mouthfeel seemed rather stale and papery. Either this hasn’t held up too well or something went wrong with the bottling. Or it just wasn’t a particularly good beer in the first place. Drinkable but I’d rather Barearts stuck to their more interesting stuff if this is the best they can do in a more "standard" mould.

Gently malty aroma with almost no hop. Has a slight cardboard aroma hinting of oxidation. Amber beer with a decent head and appropriate carbonation. Slightly malty with reasonable ho bitterness, no hop flavour to speak of.

Bottle 500ml. @ ChrisOs - Christmas Tasting.

Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, sour malt, light to moderate yeasty, leather notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, light sour malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101228]

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Clear amber beer with a little white head. Low carbonation dry palate. Insubstantial lagerish malt. Watery hops. Dry finish - metallic. Can scarcely believe this is from Barearts, they are better than this! Just a wrong -un, this - tastes like (poorly) mass produced lager that has gone stale.

Bottle at Chris NY Tasting 2010. Clear amber. Lasting beige head. Decent premium beer with malts. Some musty aroma. Oxidised. Not great
