At Barfüßer, Nuremberg. On draught. Brown color. Moderate roast flavor, a bit thin on the palate but sessionable enough.

Dark burnt read color, tending towards black. Aroma of caramel. Toasted, malty notes, caramelly but not sticky or sweet. Pleasantly tingly on the tongue.

Draft. Pours brown with a beige head. Very light roasted malts, really more like toasted malts, some light bready sweetness, and light earthy notes. Relatively bland.

Tap in Nürnberg. A gradient red-chestnut at the bottum up to black at the top, with a lacing light brown head. Genericaly sweet malty nose, silken mouthfeel but the taste is essentially blenderized Wonder Bread crusts on top of a bit of malt sugar. A fascinating thing, I guess, but a bad sign when my first reaction is "echhhh...." and I struggle to choke it down.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2012 Had this on tap at Barfusser, Nuremberg, Germany, Tuesday 5th June 2012 Pours dark brown with a hint of ruby red glontong through. Soft in the mouth with some caramel. Like the blonde this also has a lihht sourness on the nose but flavour is good if a touch simplistic and a tad thin. A5 A4 T7 P3 Ov12 3.1

1l bottle. Caramel, chocolate and toast aromas. Dark Amber color, hazy, with non persistent light brown head. Taste sweet, with some sourness/acid. Light body, creamy texture, medium to high carbonation. Dry and long finish.

draft at Barfusser in nurnberg. cola brown. fine-bubbled tan head. dusty yeast / light powdered milk and chalk nose. thin and watery with light touches of roast and sourish milk throughout. dirty and phenolic with rough carbonation, there’s very little to like about it, making the already high cost of a glass even worse. minerallic and gravel and metal and such. awful. make your own barf joke here.

(Rating #3850)
