3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled the 2007 winter version on cask at the brewpub. Served only slightly chilled, close to room temperature. Aroma was mostly malty, some caramel and some fruity and herby notes too. A dark amber-orange color with a tint of brown and a creamy, medium-sized, off-white head with average retention. The flavor was sweet, but with a bittering hop balance to complement. Mostly smooth on the palate, with an average thickness and lighter carbonation. A good winter beer with specialized character.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A slightly above average brew. See below for more details... a lot like Sam Adams but toned down a different degree. I enjoy the alcohol content of 7.2% which does sneak up slightly, yet overtakes the everything that this one has to offers. Not bad, not good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft... Clear copper ale with a mid-sized, creamy, lightly tanned head. Malty, mineral aroma. Light smoke and caramel; mild herbal and floral notes. Medium-sweet, lightly bitter flavor with a touch of tanginess. Medium-bodied and watery with soft carbonation. Lengthy, gently bitter finish.
