Bottle - "Brewed in 2010 with Cannonau Grapes". Pours a very dark, opaque brown with a short beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, grapes, sweet malt, soft grains, and caramel. Taste is big caramel and dark fruit notes with more grape in the background, powdered cocoa, soft grains and candyish notes. Body is medium-full with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more dark fruit, grapes, caramel, sweet malt notes, and grains.

Bottle. Poured black color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex malt, dark grapes and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced grape sweet flavor with a medium to heavy grape sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black. Wonderful full aroma of toffee, caramel, molasses, red grapes, orange peel and barley grains. Taste is the same, but less powerful. Medium body - maybe a little light for the ABV, but still satisfying.

500ml bottle. Reddish-black or dark brown in color without much head to speak of. The aroma is rather vinous with a considerable roast/charcoal presence. Complex for sure, with some dark chocolate. The flavor is like a red wine/porter hybrid, very roasty with bitter chocolate notes. Medium-bodied with a low, wine-like almost, carbonation level. A nice unique beer overall.

Big red wine character comes through in the aroma and flavor. Light chocolatey-ness and yeasty-ness reminds me of a chocolate malted.

Bottle @ meeting. Deep brownish black, small tanned head. Aroma of liquorice, caramel, coffee and peat. Flavour is bittersweet of coffee, malt, spices, some earth, some metal and dark fruits. Very creamy.

750mL cobalt bottle, at least a few years old. Poured rich garnet-tinted brown with a lovely cap of deeper beige head. The aroma picked up a blend of dark and milkier chocolates paired with sweet vanilla, molasses, and toasted nutty notes.. a touch of tart oak accented, but it carried through very little vinous character.. most excellent cocoa impression on the back. The flavor also had a lot of chocolate character.. darker notes at the core laced with alcohol-fueled molasses, and sweeter vanilla and cocoa notes extending outward.. nutty sweetness and light earthy bitterness on the edges.. light oxidation gave a welcome extra layer of character.. finished dry and lightly-roasted with a little bit of rough rubbing alcohol. Medium-bodied and kind of slick on the palate, not really catching itself until it got to the back.. tart oak complemented the brew, but again the vinous character was almost a nonentity.. overall a very tasty and enjoyable brew!

Bottle at Dutch RB Meeting. Dark brown pour, creamy tan head that leaves lacing. Aroma of butter, dark fruits, American hops and some roasted malts. Flavor is creamy, bitter, slightly sweet and with butter and fruits. Creamy texture and average carbonation. Decent brew.
