Stemware sampler at local beer seminar. Walnut/brown hue with some small, bubbly, off white ring of head and some fair lace. Aroma was malt, caramel and cocoa. These follow into the flavor with a little dark fruit and roasted notes. Alcohol is present but subdued nicely by the flavors.

Pours dark caramel with no head. The nose and flavor are spice, citrus and a grape skin influence. Interesting brew.

Bottle. Body-looks like cola-dark brown with a medium ring f bubbles. Nose-cold cola, light cold sweet coffee, unrefined cereal. Taste-raw sugar, some cinnamon, very bright, light grape, slight ginger, coco powder, some raspberry liquor, light peanut butter, very light butter, some bourbon, slightly cloying, great mouthfeel, light plum. An EXCELLENT beer. World class.

Bottle at Tronraner’s Xmas Eve^3 tasting courtesy of lithy. Dark brown pour with red highlights and ring of off-white head. Raisin and plum aroma. Sweet molasses, chocolate, soy, and a dusty tart semi-driy finish. Didn’t notice too much alcohol as others have picked up on. Appearantly very expensive though.

The bottom line on this one is way, WAY too much alcohol heat. It looks great - dark brown and little bit of reddish notes, with a nice thick, rich brown head. Smells OK, with rum and raisin and oak. The flavor is initially rummy, and fruity and red wine, but more alcohol burn at the end than it needs.

In short: A original strong ale of some kind with a dominant grapes and raisins flavour. Different.
How: Bottle 750ml, bought by MartinT in Italy and consumed fresh soon after his return. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Brown body with littles particles topped by a very small beige head
In long: Nose of a baked raisin pie. Tasty beer mixing a bunch of almost cohesive flavours. Red and dark grapes, toasted graham cookies, caramel, molasses, red wine. The beer is a bit vinous and the grapes flavour were a bit too dominant for my taste and I found it distracting. Even the finish was dominated by grapes and even had a light grapes sourness. I can’t say I really liked it but I give it a few extra points for originality. A decent beer from a country where there are no Jehovah witnesses? They don’t like any witnesses.

dark brown pour with a thin head. smells like suntan lotion, oranges, and cola- but good cola.plum flavors that have a bit of roast, berry flavors come out & mix well. milk chocolate flavor lingers, a fun, changing taste that requires attention. interesting & pleasing. 4 7 7 5 16
