4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 OffLicense (3) - Rome, ITALY - SEP 2, 2008 does not count
Bottle at Off License Roma ’08 BB10 made by Master brewer Nicola from the Barley Brewery, Sardegna. The peculiarity of this beer is that there is boiled grape must fermented together with the malt.
Pouring the beer into a balloon glass we got a deep dark brown colored beer with a creamy compact, persistent head. Aroma wild Blackberries, Prunes, Raisins. Tasting confirm the dried fruits, blackberry conserve, wild cherry. Long persistent after taste. A fantastic Italian Style beer.

Bottle at GBBF 08. Thanks to Christian Scheffel I think for opening this. Very dark brown. Odd roasted malt wine vinegar aroma. I have no idea what this is. Is it a wine? A beer? Something to marinate meat in? Startingly odd. Syrupy, hot and frankly I wouldn’t want to drink it again.

Bottle at GBBF 08. Riserva 2007. Recommended by Lorenzo Dabove (Kuaska), not your usual barman. Almost black with a small ruddy head. Sweet nose, hints of nuts and dark fruit. Sweet nutty caramel flavours, prunes and chocolate. The vinous character appears after a while. Full-bodied. A great Italian beer, no doubt.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 9, 2008
Bottle at GBBF 08. Very deep brown and slightly oily. The aroma will put hairs on your chest at ten paces! Coffee, sugars, dark fruits and a load of alcohol. As you sip the beer, you can’t help but feel it is single-handedly giving you a hangover, and that’s from a tasting measure! The use of wine wort certainly makes for some interesting flavours, but I don’t think I could drink this very often.

Had at international beer festival in seattle. Pours opaque brown with tons of floaties (looks gross). Tan huge froathy head. Aroma really good of malts, hops and citrus fruit. Flavor nice earthy hops and malts. Slight grape undertone. Very suprisingly good.
