COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

750. At Belgrade tasting, thanks ippopotamo36! Hazed orange, lacing foam. Good appearance, pretty beer. Caramel malts and alcohol sweetness. A lighter bodied barley wine, more sweet and bright, I imagine from the Malvasia addition. Very interesting and a perfect cap to our very nice tasting.

Bottle 750ml.

Unclear matt medium orange colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, wheat notes, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, fruity, moderate yeasty, grape - white. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, grapes - wine. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130223]

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy opaque golden with a white head. Very odd perfumey bonbonish aroma – interesting though. Fairly rich body, quite some fruit but also annoying phenols. Ends dry with some biiterness. Probably could’ve been great with a different yeast. (let’s ban Belgian yeast and nasty phenols!) 230213

Bottle from BQ, Milan
Cloudy deep blond color with compact head. Initially the aroma is fresh and fruity, then it gets a more yeasty trace. Good body strength; semi-sweet flavor, with underlying fruitiness; unfortunately the yeast is too strong, giving some vegetable touch too; also, the alcohol is more evident than expected.
The grape doesn’t provide enough. Confused.

750 ml bottle. L52-11. BB Nov/2014. From Roybeer, Milan, Italy.
Slightly cloudy deep golden colour with small white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, fruits, grapes, malt and mild yeast. Interesting and quite delicious aroma indeed. Flavour is strong. Malt, some sourness, mild bitterness, fruity sweetness, some vinous elements and alcohol in flavour. Very enjoyable. Very good for a Barley Wine since very malty beers ain’t my favourites. The grapes give this one very nice complexity and dimension. Mild bitterness in aftertaste. Also the bitterness and sweetness are in rather perfect balance. It wasn’t cheap but I think it’s worth every cent. New brewery for me and looking very promising. Rich, tasty and balanced. Two thumbs up. Not a bad one for my rating #4 000.

Una birra fatta molto bene dalla quale forse mi aspettavo qualcosa in più. Va giù molto delicata. Grazie a Zarin per la bottiglia.
