3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rastacouere (5919) - Montréal, - OCT 10, 2005
Almost black and covered by an exemplar beige head. Roasted ground coffee hit the nose like it wants to hurt it. Pecan and cerealic + cocoa malt contribution manage to cut a bit the fat creaminess. Full bodied, almost flat texture. Absent acidity. Pleasant floral hops participate in balancing this biggy. The final word is that we’re facing a very tasty and focused coffee stout that, while not very complex, still manage to hint at 3-4 other things which is more than average.

Aroma is a steady mix of burnt roast and hops along with rich roasted coffee and mild chocolate notes. The body is deep black with a fluffy mocha head. Burnt dark malts, black chocolate, fairly hoppy and long lingering coffee notes. Not the greatest range, but what is present is tasty and enjoyable.
