GABF 2011. Heavy black with a fading tan head. Nice dark roasty chocolate aroma with coffee and dark toasted grains. Flavor is nice and grand--coffee, chocolate, dark chewy cereal grains. Big body with a nice linger. Pretty great.

had a few on consecutive nights at brewery. on tap. black with dirty beige head. definitely smell the roasted malt.. ahh the taste; don’t know that I got the thick oatmeal taste/mouthfeel but ahh the taste - great job on the rasted flavor with a good amount of espresso/coffee flavor. damn good

Black w/ brown edges. Aroma is oatmeal, lightly roasted, chocolate, cream. Taste is chocolate, caramel, light oatmeal.

Growler from the brewpub. Nose of oats, chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Clear, very dark brown with a medium beige head of lager bubbles. Flavor is Chocolate, grits, and light coffee.

Pitch black with creamy tan head and lace. Medium roasted malt, and strong burnt coffee on the nose. Large roasted malt, espresso, a hint of sweet and abv. Creamy full bodied beer. Damn fine offering

on tap-pours a brown head and black color. Aroma is rich dark malt/oat-licorice. Taste is sweet rich dark malt/oat-licorice/chocolate, some hops.

Pours a dark brown to black with a nice looking light brown head. Aroma of coffee, cocoa and roasted barley. Flavor is bitter chocolate and coffee and balanced with a little sweetness. Pretty decent oatmeal stout.

Sample at brewery. Light roasted malt aroma. Black body with tan head. Flavor had a light roast but that was it. Watery and just seemed like an ordinary beer nothing else.

This was some damn good stuff. Roasty and sweet coffee aroma. Pours black with a thin tan head. Flavor is more roasty coffee. A little sweet. Some fruitiness? Finishes mildly hoppy as I can pick up some citrus on the back end. Finishes very smooth.
