Malty, sticky, hoppy thin clean finish. Crisp, mild bitterness. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2007 on tap-pours a light tan head and brownish/red color. Aroma is barnyard, sweet medium/dark malt-some caramel/chocolate. Taste is barnyard, sweet medium/dark malt-some caramel/chocolate, peat?, huskiness, some fruit, secondary/faint hops. OK/mild carbonation.
jayg (997), Florida, USA Sep 17, 2007 On tap at brewpub. Poured a mostly clear brown color with a thin soapy tan head. Mostly sweet malt characters in the nose with a very mild nuttiness. Taste was pretty much as expected for a brown ale, except there was a little bit of roast bitterness at the fiinish. Better than expected. Aromas of light chocolate with maybe a hint of coffee. Flavor is a nice mellow chocolate with a touch of nut.
