Draught at Beer Mongers, Portland
Black color with brownish head. Plenty of roasty malts and resiny hops, but not ashy, it’s moderately sweet, full bodied, and the imperial dimension is a good choice for a CDA. The aroma is also a bit cheesy, which I appreciate.
Excellent.

On tap at Belmont Station’s Bier Cafe, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a great mix of roasted malt and piney hops, like a well-balanced black IPA should. Flavour is super pungent, with loads of roasted malt, dry dark fruits, and potent pine hops. Impeccably well-balanced, without any harsh elements. Damn fine flavours. Fantastic double black IPA.

(Hand Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with an average beige head. Aroma of cocoa, citrus, and roastiness. Flavor of cocoa, citrus/pine hops, and caramel with a somewhat sticky finish.

On tap at FredFest 2013. Pours near black with a modest beige head and a heavy treacle aroma. There is a full-bodied blackstrap flavor with some licorice and a dry bitter finish. True to the style and very tasty.

Growler thanks to the Boise crew. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. An excellent fruity nose with light chocolates. The flavor comes across as a massive very fruity, light resiny hop forward brew, some lighter chocolate and roast. Excellent.

On Tap at the Brewpub pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. A nice hop aroma. It looks crazy a black double IPA. Very tasty

Tap @ Brewpub: Black, nice tan head and lacing. Nose of light soap and a touch of caramel along with the citrusy bright hops. The flavor is surprising, nearly no roast, just a faint chocolate note. Sweet yet balaced, plenty of hops in the flavor. Sticky, nice, strong.

Tap @ Belmont Station... Poured deep, almost black. Insanely citrus, hoppy nose. Acidic and high alpha bitterness that assaults the palate. Slightly roasted malts, but nearly completely muffled by the high IBUs. Not an unbalanced mess though.

On Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown clear with a small light tan head. Aroma of mostly hopps but a touch of dark roasted malts as wel. Flavor was like a lightly roasted IPA. Didn’t taste very "double"ish but an unusual combination of malts makes this IPA the color it is. Ballanced and mellow for a IIPA and goes down easy for what was explaind to us as "just under 10%" ABV
