Draft - Lots of grapefruit and some nice tropical notes. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet tropical fruit and some nice syrupy sweetness. Great and too easy drinking.

[2/25/15] Draught at APEX in Portland. Clear deep golden. Aroma of piney and fruity hops with an alcoholic hint. Flavor has some sweetish chewy malt, fruity and piney hops, and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied.

Sample at the Bistro’s DIPA-festival. Light amber with a white head. Hoppy and fresh with grapefruit, resin, light caramel and some malt. Also notes of grass and some warming alcohol. A pleasant one.

Tap @ Bier Thirty: Finally my first beer from Barley Browns… I’ve heard so much about their hoppy brews and its been a long wait. The color is nice, it’s a light copper orange with good clarity and a small beige head. Some lacing. The nose is relatively mild, pine and floral, but it comes through in the taste. Really solid hop flavors. Citrus and floral, a little bit of tropical fruit. Not much bitterness, but very nice hop flavors throughout. Looking forward to trying more brews from Baker City.

On tap at ABV. Pours a clear amber with a dense, off white head that falls off to a ring leaving no lacing. The nose is awesome. Bright, piney, pungent hops, brutal, pungent, fruity and with plenty of grapefruit pith. Moderate malt character that makes this rather juicy. The palate opens with a big bitterness, very pungent with grapefruit juice, pine sap, bitter orange juice,English orange marmalade , especially in the way the sweetness is reserved. Medium in body with a long, bitter finish, this beer is lightly carbonated and has a wonderful mouth feel. Imagine Notorious but with a smaller body and less sweetness and you have this beer. Exceptional.

Ye gilded quaff, strong of alcohol and full of flavour! This, oily, slightly boozy bastard has huge pine and tropical fruit smells jumping from it. Some dank ol’ dirty resin as well. Not too much malt flavorino happening in this big hop-slapper of a Double, light caramel and toast barely keeping this tongue-twister from getting away on a hop train. A very nice Dub from BB. Session?

Tap at Hawthorne Hophouse. Citrusy nose -- Simcoe and others. Golden amber color. Moderate, mixed hop initial, some alc. warmth., and the malt works its way in during mid and final. Medium body, a bit thin for an imperial. Tasty. The mild malt base allows the big hop mixture to shine.

Nikiel (879) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 18, 2014
On tap at Bridgetown. Pours gold with off-white foam. Smells generally green with a hint of sweet barley. Tastes sticky and tingly of lots of hoods and alcohol.
