On tap at Fredfest. Pours black with a rich light brown head and a wet hop aroma. There is a sturdy smoked malt flavor with a rapidly escalating hop bitterness that peaks at the finish. Very interesting, but perhaps too bitter for a stout. So I reached into the Fredfest M&M with peanuts bowl and popped a couple into my mouth. The added sweetness turned this into a very tasty brew indeed.

Tap @ Bailey’s Cellar Fest [2010 Vintage]... Poured jet black with a light brown head. Nose was super hoppy in true Barley Browns fashion. Hops played leafy, citrus, peppery and astringent. Very dank. Some smoke and roast which was boasted by a big coffee flavor.
