Draught at Apex, Portland
Hazy golden color with compact head. Musky strong IPA, moderately sweet, but not caramelly or heavy; the hops are sturdy. Not necessarily easy to drink, or exciting.
Heavy beer. Heavy concept.

On tap at Apex, pours a clear golden copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney and herbal hops, and biscuity malt. Flavour is wonderfully balanced, with loads of piney hops, some herbal notes, and just enough dry malt to back. Excellent balance - with loads of hops that don’t become burdensome. Wonderful.

Draft - Lots of nice grapefruit. Clear gold with a decent white head. Lots of grapefruit and nice bitterness. Clean and simple.

Growler my friend drove over to Boise from the taproom today. Smells great. Grapefruit, lemon, dank hops. Tastes great too. Bitter and a little sweet. Full of flavor. Really liked this.

GABF 2014. Pours an orange amber with white lacing. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, pine and caramel malt. Mouthfeel is light to medium with notes of citrus, pine, mango and clean malt.

Growler. Thanks, C! What an awesome treat. Pours a murky bright orange with a dense and creamy light tan head. Big sweet and juicy grapefruit and caramel nose. Creamy thick body with sluggish carb. Chewy mid palate, lots of heavy malt, some unfermented malt sugar for sure. Big presence. Lots of flavor--big heavy sweet finish.

Wow! Up front hoppiness , yet very smooth and drinkable . No alcohol burn, but this beer brings on wooziness . Orange copper color, oil skin head, hop dominance for aroma and taste . A real beauty!

Past notes. On tap. Colour...copper hued with a very slight haze and a decent size off white head. Nose...massively hoppy! The simcoes really come through as does loads of pine pitch and crushed ponderosa needles. Palate...geez sweet Louise!! Talk about sweetness! This is like a diabetic coma in a glass! Intensely cloying, this ale brings forth a brigade of toffee, Turkish delight and Medjool date paste. The piney aspect is ever present and there’s plenty of earthy, dusty hops. Satsuma mandarin hits the back of the palate and the finish is lengthy and still immense with sugar.

Drank this draw at Beaver Tap. Very smooth and fresh. I would for sure drink this again.

Very clear golden... good 1" head and great lace. tons of fresh fruity hoppiness.... citrus and pineapple come to mind.. just enough maltiness to drive the hops up and out of the glass. very bright bitterness out of the gates... with again a definite West Coast feel when it comes to the malts... mid palate is a huge blast of tropical fruit hoppiness (simcoes?) Great Body and carbonation. Honestly reminds me of PtE... very very good.
