3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I’m more an IPA, intense guy so have to respect the boundaries wen reviewing pales. barely browns favorite brewery and this one is flavorful, non-aggressive, a little more weight than most pales but still smooth & easy. aroma is light but spicy, resin & caramel & something. the flavor also, while light, keeps its balance, more malty than hoppy but not sweet. clean finish

On tap at Apex, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out light crisp floral hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is dry and crisp, with floral hops and crisp biscuity malt. Very dry, crisp and astringent. Nothing overly special but very well-made.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at Apex, Portland
Hazy golden color with creamy head. Dry Pale Ale, a bit papery, without notable malt or hop character, with very light chamomile touch.
Easy beer, but not bad.

Had on draft at the brewpub. Barley Browns makes fantastic pale ales. Big juicy hops, tangerine, citrus, the hops do come across a bit soapy. Bready malts round out this beer.
