obxdude10 (1389), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 25, 2002 Black in color, full & soft tan head, very smooth, lots of roasted maltiness in the flavor, sweet aftertaste, great dark lager
shadey (1340), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 7, 2005 Nice mild aroma. Malty and long on the tongue. Chocolatey. A very nice example of the style. DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 30, 2004 Rated: 750 ml bottle that was stored for 13 months...also on tap in Tannersville. This beer pours a nice deep black color with a medium head. The taset is very malty, with hints of wheat bread, molasses, and chocolate malts. It is somewhat light in viscosity, and very smooth. The finish is slightly sweet and leaves you wanting another. One of my favorite schwarzbiers. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Feb 22, 2005 Poured a dark brown with red high lights. thick tan head, lasted. wonderful malt aroma with a secret funkiness to it. I tasted smooth chocolate, that was balanced and pleasing. Nothing over powering, good balance and nice dry finish. I loved it, but the style is grown to be my favorite. egajdzis (3013), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 19, 2004 Poured a mahogany red color with a small light tan head that left spotty lacing on the glass.. Musty, malty, doughy, sweet, citrus aroma. Honey, caramel, toasted dough, light roastiness in the taste. Very nice, a surprise from this brewer.
