Commercial Description:
Dark and delightful, this is an easy-drinking brew. Brewed with five different malts and hallertau and tetnang hops, then pitched with Bavarian lager yeast.

Looks nice enuff, almost like a porter. But, like the Aussie Gold, has that Lemon Pledge flavor. I suspect that this brewer has some quality control issues.

Complete drain pour! Really ugly beer. Dark amber-brown with virtually no head. Smells like vomited red wine. It tastes like it was aged in sweaty sneakers. Also extremely watery. How does a professional brewer make this beer and believe it’s good enough for public consumption?

On tap at Barley Creek. Clear dark brown pour with zero head. Faint aroma of dark fruits and roasted malt. Flavor follows suit, not bad but not that impressive either.

On tap at a bar/restaurant near Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania. Dark brown pour, no head. A malty German beer - I had a little trouble identifying the style. The taste was pretty good - fairly dry and hoppy, but on the thin side.

Bottle: The description states that this beer is easy drinking. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t as hard as the others in the case. There were brief flavors of coffee and chocolate but they were gone quickly. Overall, best beer in the case..but that’s not saying much.

1st Schwarzbier, Initially the aroma is malty, with some albeit mild hops. Its appearance is trully black, but not motor oil. It’s flavor is a very clean with some roasty malt & hops as well. Its extremely smooth. I could drink this, but its sort of like a porter without the hutzpah. Sort of ordinary. Not entirely sure I’m tasting everything this hopes for.
