Tap at the pub. Poured a light brown. Nutty aroma, sweet and malty. This was a little light in mouth feel, but had a smoothness to make it a possible session brew.

Poured a reddish caramel color with a small, off white head that left very light lacing on the glass. Butterscotch, diactyl, nuts, citrus hop aroma. Dry, citrus hop taste, light fruitiness, sweet malt and little cardboard. Average mouthfeel. Not bad.

Deeper brown color, thin tan head. Some chocolaty malts, amybe some smoke. The flavor also has a bit of an off sour flavor though. Medium body. Decent brown ale.

Poured brown with off white head. Smells light and smokey and has similar smokey flavor. Very sweet and smooth. I was surprised with this one.

Much better than I expected it to be. It has a nice smokey brown flavor and a lighter than expected color. Also, a sweet and smokey aroma. I’m a fan - and now I see that it’s fairly local to boot.

DocLock (6800) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2004
Rated: 750 ml bottle. This is a good broan ale, with a slight head. It is malty, but seems a little on the sour side. Subdued hops, and a finish that is malty and a bit tart, with hints of black cherry. A complex beer.
