COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If not for the high IBU's, SuperHOP would fit right into the IPA category. Hopped four separate times with pure Centennial hops for one of the hoppiest brews around.
Formerly known as Barley Creek SuperHOP

On tap at Ortinos Northside. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with an off white foamy head that sustained and laced. Aroma of caramel malt with some lighter pine and citrus hops hidden in there. Flavor of the same, some more of the hops coming through with some light bitterness. I felt this one had a nice hop/malt balance. Kind of surprised when I saw all the other reviews saying what a "hop-bomb" this one was.

Found a bottle in a box during a move. Circa 2004-2005. Pours a rich brown with thick tan head. Darker than expected. Aroma is very little hop but much malt. Most likely due to the short shelf life of hop aroma and flavor in beer. Taste is almost of a barley wine, but a weak one. It’s really not fair to rate this beer on a six year old bottle. So I’ll give it my average rating.

Pours amber with a small head. Nose has notes of pine sol which are less pronounced on the tongue. The taste lingers longer than I thought it would. Not bad by most standards but it’s a bit of a dissapointment that this is the best thing I’ve had here.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2011 On draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear coppery amber with a small off white head. Aroma of buttery notes, citrus and pine. Taste is much the same as the aroma.

12oz bottle-thanks jtclockwork-pours a big foamy tight tan head (Explosive)- hazy amber color. Aroma is herbal/resin hops after a blast of band aid/iodine. Taste mostly band aid, some medium malt. Infected drain pour.

on tap-pours a light tan head that laces with copper/orange color. Aroma is hops. Taste is good crisp hops, citrus, a little bite. Better before food.

Had at the brewery and was the best out of the 5 barley creeks I tried, though that isn’t saying much. Poured a cleaer brown amber color with medium layer of offwhite head. Aroma is woodsy hop presence and some caramel. Flavor is a tad watery. Caramel malt base with decently strong dry pine finish.

Cider tones. Very hoppy as the name suggests. Almost like a bath of hops hits your mouth. Overdone, in my opinion. Possible, it aged too much. Rated 4/10/10

It is a decent IPA, but would not seek it out anywhere other than the brewpub. It has a slightly bitter finish, but like most of the beer I tried there (porter, brown ale), they are fairly flat in flavor.

If I needed to be rescued by an IPA, this isn’t the one I would look for in the evening sky. The nose is decieving. Fresh hops and pine right away. But everything after that is average. Clear copper colour. Mild hops on the palate. finishes fresh."

Pours amber with a thin tan head. Smells of citrus, some spicy hints. Tastes bitter and citrussy with some sweet malty hints. Not enough hops for an IPA.

12oz. Bottle (exploded! I lost 2/3 of the beer): Aroma of hops, Brett, and funk. Perhaps a bad bottle? Poured brown/deep amber in color with huge, foamy, tan head that disappeared quickly. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Full of small, medium, and large-sized particles throughout. Flavor is tart and bitter. Tastes of tart fruit, hops, and malts. Medium body. Thin, dry texture. Average carbonation. Tart, hoppy finish is dry. Pretty sure this is infected.
