3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 VeloVampire (616) - Parkdale, Toronto, - SEP 30, 2010
On tap at C’est What - came a clear copper colour with a thin film of white head. Orchard aromas, pear, peach, some green earthy quality. Flavours of grass, hay, peach and apricot; very "natural" tasting. Didn’t seem all that bitter (had after much more pronounced bitterness of GLB Miami Weissendunkel), but had a nice, rounded moreish quality. A nice step for the brewery, and good to see a brewer using locally grown hops. Good effort.

Ipa eh? Hmmm.....lots of grass, some cardboard, and a bit of pine. Light to medium bitterness, with more grass, and some deent grainy malts. Not what i was expecting. Ontario ipa circa 1995.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 RayOhm (474) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 28, 2011
on tap. heavy citrus hop aroma. amber colour. flavour matches the aroma, with a stong bitter finish. well balanced, though I prefer the hop forward IPAs. not sure why its not in the IPA category. wayyyy underrated.

Ew, sadly this didn’t pass the "taste good" test. Looks alright - a limpid amber/copper. Aroma is a mess of grass/flowers/peas/vegetable soup/cardboard. Spoiled? Anyway, taste is to match, wonky, brutal lingering bitterness, less aroma.

Cask Stillage at Toronto Cask Days festival Volo, Toronto 30/10/2010
Hop aroma. Amber coloured a little hazy in appearance strong in alcohol and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a bitter lasting malt finish.

[3396-20100925] Cask. Burnt popcorn husks and toast crumbs aroma. Hazy, amber orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy corn bread flavour. Medium body. Average.

On tap at Volo (cask)
Aroma sticky malty aroma , flowery hints with leaf/woody like character. Slight pepper hops. Lacking that simple smoothness of good IPA. 6-
Appearance fine haze on dark amber. Beige creamy top, good lace. 3+
Flavor and Palate : Thick , malty character , nutty front with citric-leafy feel. Hint of spice with creamy texture behind. Slightest hint of diacetyl. Oxidized a bit.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 blankboy (4436) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 21, 2010
Draught at Volo. Pours a deep murky red with a small diminishing fizzy white head. Very mild aroma of caramel malt and light hops -- hard to get much really as it’s so mild. Flavour, which I found kind of homebrew-ish, of caramel malt and light hops, though the hops mostly show in the average bitter finish. Average bodied. Dull and not an IPA, it reminds me of an Amsterdam Brewing beer, not bad, just O.K.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Spab (1194) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 8, 2010
Cask at Volo. Pours a dark orange gold with moderate-sized off-white head. Aroma is fairly mild with some pale malt and earthy, citric hops. Taste is a little more assertive but still a little too muted with same character as aroma. Serviceable but unspectacular.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 czar (1205) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 5, 2010
Drank at Cask Days at Beau’s 2010 Oktoberfest. Cloudy brownish, aroma of fresh hops, little head, good body (medium), and malty. Nice.
