3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another change has been made to this beer. Brewery is now using some water treatment in their pale ale in order to reduce the previously "stunted" hop flavour and balance. Result is longer linger in the hops from start to finish, and smoother malt profile.

Tried in bottle Mar 10/09, production date of Feb. 19/09. Could not finish one bottle!! Poured flat into the glass, no head retention and no lace(and yes the glass was perfectly clean), nice colour though. Aroma DMS, cooked corn /veg, sulphur ?? Astringant flavour right off the bat, bitter not in a good hop way, burnt grain flavour, no percevable hop character for a pale ale.Not really impressed. New equipment, new brewmaster, same beer!!!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a bright clear gold with a loose-bubbled head with half-decent retention and minimal lacing. Bland lightly sweet aroma. Tastes vaguely corny with light fruitiness, otherwise lightly stale hops and unremarkable. Decent, almost excessive carbonation, crisp thin body. Nothing exciting happening here. Thanks to Robin for the trade!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Pub Italia. Pours a pale golden-orange with a small diminishing white head. Aroma: Hmmm, it’s yeasty, almost Belgian-like, a bit mild and with fruit, light spices and light hops -- nothing like a Pale Ale. Flavour’s yeasty and spicy along with some grain and hops showing up just in the finish. Average bodied. It’s fine but man oh man this is not on style at all, I even wondered if they gave me the wrong beer but I double-checked and they swore it was the right beer. Time to rename it?

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This pale ale poured a light yellow colour with a nice big bright white head with a little lacing. To the nose there are scents of pineapple, yeast, apricots and a little earth thrown in. First taste was hoppy but a little watery. Strong floral hopps with a little bit of ripe fruit and corn ending with a yeasty finish. Palate is hoppy and bitter.

[1269-20080409] 341mL bottle. Corn vegetable yeast aroma. Clear, golden yellow brown body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Grainy yeast flavour has light sweet corn hints. Medium body. Nice and yeasty, otherwise fair.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appears a pale yellow with a low, filmy head and medium-to-high carbonation. Aroma is grainy with citrussy hops and a faint hint of cooked veggies. Flavour is grainy, working into more biscuitty malts as it warms, finishing with a mix of bitterness and hard-water mineral. Mouthfeel is thin and a little soapy. Average.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
amber/orange pour, small white head that didnt last very long. I keep smelling this, and i’m not geting anything......its basicly like pale malt, and maybe some hops, but really there isnt much here. Flavour though is nice. I’m getting quite a bit of english hops, some nice goldings, and maybe some fuggles. A nice bitter finish, with some good citrus from the hops. Not bad.
