TheJester (1262) - Peterborough, - SEP 5, 2011
650 mL bottle from the brewery. Pale orange with only a few big bubbles and a thin film of head. Oak and a floral/soapy note in the nose. Not unappealing, but quite mild. The flavour is interesting, and maybe a little hard to describe. Some floral hops, some vanilla, some bitterness. But it’s all, like the nose, quite mild. Body on the thin side of medium. Not bad, but not worth revisiting.

probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2011
Bomber from brewery via Mike (thanks!) at Mike’s, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 20NO11.

App.: Clear deep golden with a white vail. Aroma: Raw wood, wet ash, vegetal, canned peas, biscuit, a little fruitiness, messy. Palate: Medium body, nearly flat. Flav.: Some decent fruity malt, still vegetal, less raw wood, less ash, cedar notes, still messy; dry with fair bitterness and a nondescript malt and wet ash finish.

Fail. Either this beer can’t handle wood or the wood was incorrectly applied.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet caramel malt with light cedar plank and oaken notes, some ash notes. In mouth, a nice smooth caramel with fresh wood, cedar, light British hops, decent. Bottle from Mike, shared with Probstk, GRM, Mike and Shaun, Nov. 20 2011.

Sammy (6113) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 26, 2011
Incredibly strong oak aroma. A light mouthfeel. Cidery. A light orange colour. Ton of oak and not that drinkable, the verdict is this is oak chips. This was better than the original but still a wonder at why it would be given this flavour.
