The_Jester (500), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 18, 2007 341 mL bottle. Deep honey brown with a nice, lasting head. Smells (home brew) malty, with dried apple and brown sugar notes. Taste is mild, dominated by malt. Slight hops bitterness. Body is a little watery. Not bad. I’d like to try it on tap.
daniel0017 (232), Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2008 341 mL bottle: Dark brown roasted chestnut color tan bubbly head. Aroma is heavy, reminiscent of wet hay. Flavor wants to be complex but falls short and has vinegary mouthfeel. Good beer, plain no pretenses. Tessic (383), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Aug 20, 2008 This ale poured a black colour with a nice dense, foamy, tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of roasted malt, caramel, ripe fruit and coffee. First taste was serious on the roasted side, slightly thin but the flavour makes up for it. Slightly smokey with flavours of caramel and coffee bean. Finish was burnt and slightly bitter. Very good, reminds me of the Stone Hammer Dark from F & M Brewery in Guelph, Ontario, Canada french tickler (505), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Aug 13, 2008 On tap @ Pub Italia

Gout de blé, amandes et raisins. robinvboyer (1055), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 9, 2008 nice maltiness in the aroma, lots of caramel, and toffee, with a huge sweet amlt. Flvour is sweet, and again very malty. not a bad ale, but not great, its pretty one dimensional.
