On tap at the Rochester pub. This beer pours a nearly opaque ruby red colour with a thick robust head, and impeccable lacing. The beer has a big malt caramel smell to it. Upon tasting it the first thing I notice is the tartness from the cherries, however the cherry flavour is not overpowering. There are notes of chocolate as well, giving the beer almost a black forest cake like taste to it. As the beer warms up, you can taste notes of coffee and caramel. The beer has a satisfying dry finish, probably due to the tartness of the cherries. I can definitely drink a lot of this beer! Well done Barley Days!

355 ml bottle from the brewery, thanks to Jason. Pours deep brown, almost black. Tan head, which quickly dissipates. Some chocolately malt flavour and cherry. NOt bad.

Dark brown. Had to struggle to pick out a bit of sour cherry in the nose. Weak aroma of roasty malt, sweetness, coffee, chocolate. Body is medium. taste of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Finish is short.

Bottle, pours a nice dark black, light head, aroma is roasty and the flavour is so as well, it is a little sweet from the cherry, but overall it is quite tasty

341 ml bottle. Deep brown appearance bordering on opaque. Very thick mocha colored head. Mild cherry, nut, and chocolate aromas. Cherry flavour dominant with a light-medium bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture. Long finish with bitter cherry.

Bottled sample via BreWedge. Dark brown in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Lots of chocolate fudge notes on the nose, backed by some subtle cherry. More chocolate and cherry notes in the mouth, but in a more balanced way. Some savory herbs and earth elements come in on the back end. Light to medium bodied, with a tart cherry finish. Not bad, but the light mouthfeel was a bit of a letdown.

Dark brown with a decent-sized, cream head. Aroma is faint, cocoa and malt - no noticeable cherry. Taste-wise, there is some coffee and a bit of cherry, but the taste is weak. Some bitterness on the finish. Overall, I think this needs to be bumped up a notch in the cherry aroma/taste.

Draught. Pours a deep hazy dark brown, with a thick tan-colored head. Aromas of toasted malts with hints of chocolate and black cherries. Taste of bitter chocolate and roasted coffee malts, mixed with a subtle sweet black cherry floral. A very nice porter.

Says "beer brewed with cherries" on front label. Pours a dark red-brown colour with a soapy cola-coloured head that dissipate fast leaving not much. Roasted malt nose with lots of hop and hints of cherries and coffee. Flat mouthfeel and pretty thick. Pretty much the same for the flavours. Roasted malt, a bit of coffee with a touch of cherries and the hop taking over most of it. I find there is a little confusion with the tastes and aromas trying to mix together, but not really getting along all that well. Would like to try other cherry porters to see if it is the same.
