Not quite a rye beer, not quite a wheat beer, this style amalgamation enjoys aspects of both beer styles. The dry breadiness of the rye / wheat is promoted by the use of a mild American Wheat yeast that adds just enough weiss flavor without getting in the way. Orange in color with a nice wheat haze, a great beer to finish out the summer heat.

Draft at the brewpub. Excellent balance on the nose and palate of dry, earthy and spicy rye with some softer, sweeter wheat notes. Pours a pretty rich copper with nice sticky lacing down the glass. Highly drinkable with a good amount of flavor.

Pretty reddish orange pour with a thick white long-lasting head. The nose was roasted caramel, rye, cut grass. The flavors were bright and refreshing...chewy rye, fresh grassy wheat, touches of clove, and yeasty fruitiness. Lively carbonation on the tongue and palate livens things up. Very nicely done.

Cask pour, thick and orange, leaving syrupy legs crawling up the sides of the glass. Nose suggests an orange marinade on roast duck, and sweet smoke. Plenty of earthy and grassy stuff underneath forming the real foundation. Tastes firstly of bark, pine nuts, and raw walnuts. Mildly fruity and juicy, but dry. The rye throws an earthy, intriguing darkness onto the traditional canvas of bubblegum, banana, and spices. Really an interesting effect. Moderate brown sweetness clings closely to the palate after swallowing. Another quick wink of citrus. Nicely done.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy orange color with faint rye on the wheaty nose. Smooth body with a dominant rye taste.

GTMW 2007. The beer pours to a murky orange body with a large off-white head that mostly dissipated. The beer smells of hay and rye with a banana bubble gum and clove. The flavor is hay and rye mixed with a medium yeastiness and dough with a banana and bubblegum yeast. The palate is moderately sweet with a medium body and a short finish. Soft overall texture.

my girl says it pours a pumpkin color I think it’s more of a cloudy orange, visible carbonation and a full white head w/ super thick lacing earn this baby a 5. Some light bread aroma, some definate wheat notes a hint of bannanna, & a light spice maybe even white pepper but really mellow. pal is pretty avg. Odd flavor like a hefe and a traditional wheat mixed or something I get a lot of the raw wheat flavors but some clove & white pepper and some breads. Interesting beer, pretty good drink.
