4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap (multiple glasses) at Barley John’s. Unfortunately, this one couldn’t be growlered, because I would have bought one. It pours to a deep mahogany body with a creamy off white head fully coating the beer. The aroma is tangy sour and acetic. Flemish sour (err, Minnesota Wild), through and through. The flavor is amazing. Super tart and acetic. Really complex sour like a Cantillon, this one is. But, then there is a light chocolate, spicy rye like malt, and rice. Most of the base beer is there but extremely muted by the very sour and puckering flavor and palate. Delicious!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Awesome beer. The wild brunette makes a great base for a sour, it turns out. The wild rice sweetness of the brunette is still present, but coupled with a great sour element that reminds me most of a Flemish red. The balance between sweet/sour is what makes this beer. Hope to see this on tap again sometime.

This was very sour, and maybe a bit much for me but I can appreciate the creation of this delicious beer. A bit of sweetness, too.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2012 I love sour ales and this was stunningly good. I loved the hyper-sour vinegar aroma. Very attractive peach colour with fabulous lacing. Taste is sweet, but with some nice saison sweetness. Overall a fantastic beer in one of my favourite styles.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Was really looking forward to this but it fell flat. Has some cherry yeast funk and a bit of plastic. Taste is sour and almost has the zing from miracle whip....

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the brewpub. Murky deep amber pour with a frothy cream colored head. Aroma is huge vinegar and sour fruit, as is the taste. Creamy palate. Bold and interesting.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
on tap at Barley Johns 5Nov2012, This is acetic.. but awesome, its very tart and sharply bitter, vinegar almost but the wild fermentation in MN is really a cool beer, its nice and dark colored with minimal head, taste is so sharply sour that none of the base beer comes through.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Barley Johns. Pours hazy dark brown amber with a creamy khaki head that slowly settles to a creamy film and some noticable lacing. Aroma has balsamic vinager and noticeable tartness. Taste is sweet funky balsamic vinager and sweetness with a sour tinge of malty funk. Palate has a medium feel and a drying finish. Solid beer!
