COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION A Special Bitter is the middle position on the English “Bitter” Beer continuum, between (Ordinary) Bitter and ESB (or Extra Special Bitter). It has a higher alcohol percentage, is more bitter, and is often darker in color with a bigger body and a more complex malt bill. This ‘Special Bitter’ is a play off of our year-round Little Barley Bitter, tweaked in the ways described above, including the addition of an infrequently seen, traditional British hop varietal: Whitbred Goldings.
