COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sterling hops are an Americanized version of the Noble German Saaz that one normally finds in Pilseners and light German Lagers. Having a higher Alpha Acid content, we thought they would be perfect for an IPA. This IPA is more subtle and nuanced than our Stockyard IPA (think understated Pilsener complexity, rather than the in your face of a standard IPA), but it is also more bitter to satisfy even the biggest Hop Head. Malts Used: 2-Row, Munich, Crystal, CaraVienne, Black Hops Used: Warrior, Sterling Yeast: House

Pour on tap at the brewpub, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, lots of grapefruit, grass, hints of grain, spice, slight garlic notes but not bad, hints of lemon. Taste is a mix of sweet caramel, toffee, nice grapefruit, mix of grass, grain, hints of earth, finishing fairly bitter.

Tap at the brewpub. Rich reddish orange pour with a spotty white head. Mild malt aroma. Herbal and mild citrus flavor. Nice full palate. I’m liking this.

Tap @ Barley Johns. Pours a dark orange appearance with an off white head. Fruit blossom, herbal, lemon, lightly spicy aroma. A bit overly dull bitterness, citrusy, floral flavor. The bittering hops really provide no flavor to me here.

On tap at Barley Johns. Pours dark red amber with minimal carbonation. Aroma is very subtle, but the hops come through a bit with gentle pine and earthy florals. Taste is mildly bitter and malty with a low carbonation. Palate is thin to medium and finishes dry.
