COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our signature ale! Brewed with MN grown wild rice and hopped with Willamette hops, this brown ale has ties to the American-style brown, but the vanilla nuttiness of the wild rice make it unique to us.

Sample at Brew Pub. I really liked the flavor profile from the yeast strain on this brown ale.

Tap. Pours Clear deep ruby black, small brown head, some lacing. Aroma is Caramel, cardboard, red wine, dried fruit, lightly spicy. Flavor is the same, medium sweet with no real bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation.

Had this at the 2012 Autumn Brew Review. Nice roasted coffee like scent and taste, creamy mouth feel.

Tap @ Barley Johns. Pours a touch hazy, deep reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty, nutty, light caramel, a bit dessert-like aroma. A bit tangy, creamy, nutty, bitter roasty, but not super smooth.

On tap at GTMW, pours a nice dark amber with an off white head and good lacing, the aroma is nutty with a little bit of caramel, the flavor has some nice chocolate notes on the front end with a sweet finish, I enjoyed this.

Several glasses from a growler purchased by my brother in law. The pour is brown ruby with a one inch tan head. The aroma is sweet nut, touch of fruit sweetness, hint of roast and a general grain huskiness. I may have picked a mild tart sour, though it was very faint. The taste is a nice blend of the sweet nut and fruit malt, and the grain. The light roast is present along with a cocoa dry sweetness in the finish. The palate is medium to light bodied, lower carbonation level and the dry light roast finish. There is really a lot going in this beer, and its difficult to describe the sweet / graininess combination. Fun beer.

On tap at BJ, the body on this beer makes it a winner, as i learned from all the beers here they are all balanced and extremely well crafted, this one just floods your mouth with flavor, though I didnt find any vanilla.

8/11/12. GTMW. Amber pour with a nice khaki head that sticks. Earthy and nutty undertones along with some chocolate and caramel and maybe just a touch of vanilla. Pretty tasty.

On tap pours amber/brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is fruity with caramel, and fruits. Flavor is caramel, fruits, nuts which all really compliment the earthy wild rice flavors, and I really love wild rice. Really nice brown!
