COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter Ale (8%abv): We harvested the hops growing on our patio this fall and used them in our Winter Ale. We also threw in some unique spices (caraway and fennel) resulting in a subtle "bready" flavor with a touch of licorice in the finish.

Ruby-copper pours with a thin, off-white head. Aroma is bready with spices and hops. Flavor is bready with hints of raisins, caramel, licorice, hops, and other spices. Medium body with good carbonation and the alcohol is masked nicely. Pretty tasty and rather unique brew overall.

Handbottle thanks to Stine - thanks! This one has an amber color with a smaller head. Aroma is dominated by heavy spices, candy, and thick floral hops. Flavor is sweet and heavily spiced with some hop influence. Nice, but not as good as I hoped for such a huge beer.

[Growler] shared by JoeBrew. Pours clear burnt caramel color with a small off white head. Aroma is strong in caraway, with some caramel, toffee, and raisins. The flavor mimics the aroma perfectly. Medium mouthfeel. Finishes with a little hop bitterness.

(growler) Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Aromas of peach, fennel, and what must be caraway (I hadn’t smelled caraway before drinking this beer). These scents blend into something rather pleasant. Taste is strong and spiced, with again, caraway and fennel, but also some caramel, and fruitiness as well. Mouthfeel was medium.

[Growler] Pours reddish-brown with a tiny white head. Aroma is very spicy, with the caraway especially showing through. The taste is also spicy--a little too much so. The caraway and fennel are dominant, but there is also light banana and toasted malt. Medium-thin mouthfeel with a long finish. I’m not a big fan of caraway, but I wouldn’t have minded it if it had been more subtle, and not overpowering as I found it to be here.

Sampled at Heritage Liquors Inauguration beer tasting in Maplewood, Minnesota. Via growler pours a reddish amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that quickly dissipates clean. Aroma of roasted dark caramel malt, some raisin, cherries and some flowery hops. Taste is semi-sweet, full bodied, with minimal carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, dark cherries, some caraway and a touch of dark pitted fruits. Finish is semi-sweet with a mild cherry and caramel aftertaste that slowly disappears.

12 oz handbottle. Clear purple brown with a bit of froth. Nose is raisin, caramel and wood. Medium light with mild carb tang. Flavor kind of thin. Taste is bitter currants, caramel, nutmeg and caraway.
