COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You don’t often see traditional British (dark) Mild ales in the USA. The dark side of our Little Barley Bitter: Malty, roasty, toasty, and still very light… BRRAAAAAIINSSSS!

Pour on tap at the brewpub, dark brownish red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, touch of grain, slight spice, hints of slight molasses, touch of slight red fruits in there as well. Taste is a mix of red fruit, some caramel, bread, yeasty notes, slight grain, nutty notes in there, touch of molasses, finishing sweet, clean. Decent.

Pours a clear, dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dry caramel malt. Flavor is light roasted malt, caramel, and nuts with a dry finish. Light body with light carbonation and a very easy drink. Seemed a bit funky to me with dry, almost yeasty notes which no one else seems to have experienced so perhaps my palate was compromised (or I had too many).

Sample at brew pub. I love the name, but I think it implies a different type of beer than this. Subtle aromas and an impressive beer for this style. Comparable to Surly Mild.

Tap at Barley Johns. The beer pours to a moderately dark mahogany body with a sexy laced white head. Aroma is very light and has a subtle spent grain (but then again, they were brewing, so it may have had none at all). Flavor is easy drinking malt that is very light with a mild hop. Clean crisp palate. Nothing special, but a well executed mild.

This was an enjoyable beer and very attractive, though not intensly flavourful like some of their other beers were.

Has some nice light chocolate and some bread/toast. Taste is similar with a bit of a nutty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
