This is a really nice beer. Don’t know if it’s a triple. For sure, I would say that it’s a unique, addictive golden ale that defines the difference between complex and complicated. Basically, it all comes down to balance. There’s quite a few distinct flavors, yet there’s no sense of overcrowding the tongue. I get a quick blast of ephemeral spice, toasty malts, sharp cheddar cheese (!), grass, and a bit of sour fruit. All that’s well and good, but it’s important to note that it’s the overall balance and the nice, watery space between flavors that distinguishes this beer from the vast majority of big golden 750’s. Try it.

Spicy and sour with lots if wine flavor and oaky finish. Excellent, refreshing beer.

Carried home from Italy, April 2009, where I bought it at Johnny’s Off License in Rome, and shared June 2011. Very nice, opaque bright orange color. A great looking beer. Big, rocky, pillow-like, white head. Light sweet with yeast, strong earthy quality with dirt and grass. Very light spice. A good beer.

Thanks to JK! Clear gold color with a large head. Wheaty aroma and some light general spice character. Very perfumy taste. Big wheat flavor. Dry finish.

Sampeld from 500 ml bottle shared by jk. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, a hint of toffee, dried apricots, and some floral hops. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of toasted caramel malt, some dried coriander and clove. Finish is semi-dry with a caramel and toast crust aftertaste that slowly disappears.

Thanks to JK for this. A beautiful hazy sunset orange color with some sediment floating about. Very white head that diminished quickly. Not as spiced as I’d expected but a wonderful aroma of bread, and perhaps a bit of clove. The body is light and smooth.

500, capped. Pours a murky toffeeish light brown with a loose whitish film on top. Big creamy green apple nose. Creamy medium body with soft lively carb. Toffee, sweet cream, and green apples on the mid palate. Kind of candyish. Sweet finish. Nice but fairly unremarkable.

Bel colore dorato pieno con schiuma bianca fine. Al naso non sembra neanche una Belgian SA, anche se la componente alcolica è subito evidente. Note di frutta matura, spezie e luppolo. In bocca si è decisamente più tradizionale, il dolce compare, ma ottimamente equilibrato da una buona secchezza. Anche in bocca la nota alcolica si fa sentire, ma in modo equilibrato.

Cloudy golden with a small white head. Malty aroma with a touch of herbs. Malty flavour with a grainy note and some herbs

Pours cloudy golden with a white head, with floaties. Flavour is malt, yeast, fruit and light hop. Flavour is sweet caramel, fruity notes and grassy hop.
